Victor Moses signs new Chelsea deal as reward for finally establishing himself at the club
Moses is now a first team regular at Stamford Bridge after being shipped out on loan earlier in his Blues career
VICTOR MOSES has been rewarded for finally establishing himself at Chelsea by a new two-year contract extension.
Moses had endured a frustrating time at Stamford Bridge after being shipped out for loan spells at Liverpool, Stoke and West Ham after his £9million move from Wigan. But he has been the surprise package of the season under Antonio Conte, making himself a regular start with his impressive displays at right wing-back.
And Conte told the club he wanted the Nigerian international tied down to an extended contract, with his previous deal due to run out in two years.
Chelsea have been quick to follow up by getting the new contract wrapped up which will see the 26-year-old stay at Stamford Bridge until 2021.
Moses said: “I feel very excited. I’m delighted to be here for another few years now and to sign a new deal.
“Now it’s time to concentrate on the team and keep working hard to make sure we win games and try to win the Premier League this season.
"He is enjoying an excellent season and, under Antonio’s leadership, has proved to be an important member of the squad.
"This new contract is testament to Victor’s hard work and dedication to succeed at Chelsea and we believe he will be a big part of our future success."
