World’s richest ready to pay a fortune to nannies
Very good British nannies and au pairs have been known to attract salaries as high as £105,000 per year. The fact is that this is nearly four times the average pay packet, according to a survey. Other benefits can include a private home, car allowance, holidays, cash bonuses, gym membership and health insurance.
However, such nannies may have to work as many as 84 hours a week, or are on call for their young charges around the clock.
Some other unusual demands from employers can include proficiency in vegan cooking, fluency in Russian or Mandarin or qualifications as a ski instructor. Some live-in nannies have been asked to bring a husband or partner with them. There have even been requests for “ugly nannies only.”
