Christmas shoppers in Hertfordshire and beyond have been warned off going for cut-price free-range turkeys stolen from a farm as they could be poisonous.

Upset Farm manager Tom Large said anyone eating their meat could become very ill, and warned people to buy only from reputable sellers.
The daring crooks scaled a 6ft fence in two late-night raids on Church Farm in Ardeley, Herts.

The site is covered by CCTV and alarms but it is feared the gang did a dummy run in daylight beforehand.
Mr Large said: “I just think it's disgusting what they've done.”
“We’re a small family-run community business.
“We’ve worked hard all year to look after these birds. It’s disappointing and upsetting.”
