Hook-handed cleric begs for return to cushy UK jail

Hamza, a fanatical Egyptian who is blind in one eye was 

the imam of Finsbury Park Mosque where he preached hate-

filled sermons against the West.


Abu Hamza, 59, who is serving a life sentence in an American “supermax” prison after being convicted of 11 terror offences has begged US prison bosses for a move to a UK jail after claiming his treatment there is “inhumane”.



The hate preacher says he is starved of human contact and gets no help with his disabilities.

Hamza misses the cushiness of the UK prison where he was allowed to mix with other inmates while being held at HMP Belmarsh, in London, as he fought extradition between 2006 and 2012.

During his time at the UK jail he was visited by a doctor or nurse up to five times a week and was tended by a healthcare aide daily.

Hamza now has “one hour per day of recreation time” but it takes place in an outdoors “cage” no bigger than his cell.

His lawyers have said that he would be willing to return to Britain “in a second”.

The notorious terror chieftain was jailed in 2006 after being found guilty in the UK of sixteen offences for inciting violence and racial hatred.

Hamza was extradited to New York in 2014, where he was found guilty of 11 terror offences, including setting up a terror training camp in Oregon.
