Donald Trump's Spy Agency

It has been reported that the White House is sounding out proposals to set up a privatised spy agency that would report directly to Donald Trump.  This is hardly surprising considering the state Intelligence management since the commencement of the Administration.

The idea has been pitched to senior administration officials by Erik Prince, founder of private security firm Blackwater, and retired CIA officer John Maguire, a US investigative website said.

Also, it has been said that the idea is receiving support from Oliver North, a key figure in the Iran-Contra scandal of the 1980s and a frequent contributor to the Fox News TV channel.
It appears that the White House is coming to the conclusion that ‘deep state’ enemies inside the intelligence community are working to undermine the president.

According to news site The Intercept, the new global agency would also report to CIA director — and Trump ally — Mike Pompeo but circumvent his underlings.
A source told The Intercept: ‘Pompeo can’t trust the CIA bureaucracy, so we need to create this thing that reports just directly to him. It is a direct-action arm, totally off the books. The whole point is this is supposed to report to the president and Pompeo directly.’
However, the White House has denied the report and there was no indication as to whether Mr Trump backs the idea.
