Notwithstanding however, Spurs qualify for the knock-out stage with two games to spare leaving others in the group - Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Apoel Nicosia - in their trail.
For the first time, Spurs looked particularly at home and their fans created a pulsating atmosphere. It is also important to add that every one of Pochettino's players rose to a very special occasion.

This was a special, spine-tingling performance from Spurs. It was a breathless, lung busting performance that squeezed the pips out of a group of players with Real Madrid's pedigree.
Dele Alli made Real look like old men. His humiliation of Casemiro, leaving the midfielder floundering on the edge of the penalty area on the way to scoring the second, was simply mesmerising.
Spurs were at their magnificent, outrageous best.
