Real Madrid have become the first club to retain the Champions League. No club has ever won the continental trophy two times in a row. This feat was expertly executed at the Principality Stadium, Cardiff, Wales on 3rd June, 2017. It means that Real have also won the trophy a record twelve times.

It was a resounding victory for the Spanish side who tore their opponents apart. Juventus, the Old Ladies of Turin were completely swept aside considering that the Italians lost the match by 4 goals to 1. It actually served as a footballing lesson for the Italian club side. Juventus were never allowed to weave their magic as Madrid's impish midfielder, Luca Modric, with his laser-like passes, ran the midfield.

Two of the goals by Real (the first and the third) came from Portuguese superstar, Christiano Ronaldo. The second goal of the match, a beautiful overhead bicycle kick by Mario Mandzukic ended up being a mere consolation goal for the Italians. The second and fourth goals for Real came from Casemiro and Asencio respectively. This was in every sense a truly comprehensive victory for Real Madrid.
