The Champions League quarter-final battles have now been fought, lost and won. Surprisingly, among the losing sides were Barcelona whose striking stars Messi, Suarez and Neymar were not given a breathing space and were never allowed by Juventus to reproduce their magic; and Bayern Munich who were put to the sword by the reigning champions Real Madrid.

Also, not progressing to the semi-finals are Leicester City who fought tooth and nail but could not get past a resilient Atletico Madrid, last year's losing finalists. The last of the losers were Borussia Dortmund whose hopes were dashed by Monaco whose players' uncompromising athleticism Dortmund could not cope with. |
