A THOUGHT FOR LIBYA'S VOICELESS MILLIONS

Since the fall of Colonel Gadaffi, oil-rich Libya has been in continuous turmoil.  What with the different factions fighting to take over the rulership of the beleaguered country.  Readers of this blog will probably agree with me that, in situations like this, it is always the ordinary people who suffer.

The UN-backed Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA) is walking a tightrope trying to keep the country as one.  However, there have been discordant voices from the chairman of the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC), Mustafa Sanalla and the Libyan National Army headed by General Haftar.

In short, it appears that all the different factions, each backed by powerful countries from around the world, have their eyes firmly fixed on the oil fields of the war-torn country.  In all these, little thought is given to the welfare of the vast majority of the country's population who just want to live their normal lives.  For peace to reign in Libya, all the factions must come together in the spirit of give and take.  The alternative is for the fighting to continue.
